The Petite-Nation region could end up with open-pit graphite mines. Lomiko Metals mining company has been working on creating an international scale project near Duhamel.
By founding the Regroupement de protection des lacs de la Petite-Nation and the Coalition QLAIM, the APLG has spearheaded the resistance movement of over 150 lake associations, from the Outaouais to the Mauricie, who are opposed to the mining industry setting up in southern Quebec.
