Further to our July 2 email announcing the launch of the NO campaign and the July 5 meeting, we would like to provide additional information.
A new website has been created: www.nonalaloutre.com which contains a wealth of information!
Please note that permanent residents are automatically registered on the municipal electoral list. Seasonal residents must register before August 1 if they have not already done so. Completed forms must be submitted to the municipal offices or mailed to the following address: 1890 Rue Principale, Duhamel, QC, J0V1G0
There is also a mailbox at the town hall door that you can use outside office hours.
Good news! Starting today, the municipality is sending forms to citizens who are not registered on the electoral list!
There are two types of forms, one for single-owner properties and one for co-owned properties. Co-owners must complete a proxy form and designate a single person to vote. Important: the back of both forms is used to register for mail-in voting. Those who have requested mail-in voting will receive the necessary documents between August 19 and 25. Completed ballots must be received by the municipality no later than August 29. There is not much leeway, so it is easier to vote in person at the municipal offices, either in advance on August 24 from noon to 8:00 p.m. or on the official voting day, August 31, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
There are currently 15 volunteers going door-to-door in Lac Gagnon to reach as many property owners as possible to inform them and encourage them to exercise their right to vote on August 31. Please note that we are short of volunteers to go door-to-door on the east side of Lac-Gagnon Road from 1396 to 3621, as well as on Chemin des Îles and Chemin du Belvédère. If you can lend a hand, please reply to this email. We will contact you to provide you with the necessary documents and information.
