Hello,
The mining referendum issue is continuing to gain momentum. Journalists from La Presse and Radio-Canada came to Duhamel last week to obtain information. These interviews are expected to appear in the daily newspaper and on the Téléjournal program this week.
More than 60 people attended the information session held by the municipality last Sunday, and the electoral list is growing. There will also be information booths at the Metro in Chénéville on Friday and Sunday and at Groupe Gagnon next Saturday.
Volunteers have been going door to door around the lake over the past few weeks, but unfortunately have not been able to reach everyone, as some residents were away. We are asking for your help to inform your neighbours and raise awareness about the importance of being registered on the municipal electoral list by August 1 and voting on August 31. Despite more than 600 mailings by the municipality, some residents tell us they have not received a form to register on the electoral list.
To make it easier for you, here is the power of attorney form (for residences with two owners) and the registration application form (for single owners). One is for sole property owners, while the proxy form is intended for co-owners. Please note that by completing the back of these documents, you will be eligible to vote by mail, both for the referendum and for the municipal elections in November. You can either print and complete a paper copy or fill it in on your screen after saving it. You can return the completed form by email as an attachment or mail it. We strongly recommend that you email the form rather than mailing it. You can also drop off the form at the municipal offices. If they are closed, you can leave the form in the mailbox outside. Forms are also available on weekdays directly at the municipal offices.
